E se o Conselho de Elrond tivesse tomado uma decisão diferente em relação à Sociedade do Anel? Com Senhores da Terra-Média, a primeira expansão para a segunda edição do jogo de tabuleiro Guerra do Anel, os jogadores podem explorar essas e muitas outras possibilidades de criar novas estratégias e oportunidades de jogo. Personalidades importantes que anteriormente só apareciam no jogo com o uso de Cartas de Evento agora são representadas por regras e miniaturas específicas. Entre os novos personagens, temos: Elrond, Galadriel, Sméagol, Gothmog e o poderoso Balrog de Moria, além de versões alternativas de Gandalf, do Rei dos Bruxos e da Boca de Sauron. Novos Dados de Ação Especiais foram incluídos: os dados dos Guardiões dos Anéis Élficos para o jogador dos Povos Livres; os dados dos Vassalos Menores para o jogador da Sombra. Também há novas versões para todos os Companheiros da Sociedade do Anel, para que possam jogar com as regras opcionais do Conselho de Valfenda.
