Jamaica: The Crew é constituido por um conjunto de vinte personagens, cada um com um poder especial, que adiciona algum sabor ao jogo sem grandes mudanças nas regras. As personagens podem ser contratadas quando pagares a taxa de um porto e eles são "carregados" como qualquer outro recurso, seguindo as mesmas regras.
Podes achar atrativo adicionar várias personagens ao teu barco - especialmente porque a maioria delas ganha ouro adicional no final do jogo -, mas com menos reservas dedicadas aos recursos normais, a navegação torna-se mais arriscada. Em resumo, mais desafio, diversão mais tola, mais Jamaica.
