Terraforming Mars: Hellas & Elysium, a primeira expansão para Terraforming Mars, é composto por um tabuleiro de jogo de dupla face apresentando duas novas áreas de Marte: • Elysium leva os jogadores quase ao lado oposto do equador de Marte, com vastas planícies e oceanos no norte, e sul seco rico em minerais. Se colocares um tile no Olympus Mons, o pico mais alto do sistema solar, ganhas três cartas grátis! • Hellas, o sul selvagem, inclui o pólo sul de Marte e a enorme cratera de sete hexágonos Hellas que implora para se tornar um lago gigantesco. Construir em torno do pólo dá-te novos bônus de colocação sob a forma de calor e possivelmente até mesmo de água. Cada um destes mapas consiste em novos conjuntos de marcos e prémios com relevância. Coloca três tiles em torno do pólo sul para seres um Explorador Polar, por exemplo, ou corre para ter a maioria das propriedades ao lado da água em Elysium!
