É uma expansão, para a jogares necessitas do jogo base Saboteur
Cada jogador assume o papel de um anão a cavar ouro ou um sabotador que quer dificultar a exploração das minas de ouro, mas cada jogador só conhece o seu próprio papel, de modo que a escavação pode ou não sair como planeada. Em cada turno, um jogador estabelece uma carta para cavar o túnel ou uma carta de ação para ajudar ou prejudicar alguém. Se os mineiros conseguem encontrar o ouro escondido debaixo de uma das cartas de objetivo, então os escavadores partilham os despojos encontrados lá. Se o ouro não pode ser alcançado, os sabotadores lucram. Depois de três rondas, vence o jogador com o maior número de ouro. O Saboteur original permitia 3-10 jogadores, enquanto que Saboteur 2 lida com 2-12 jogadores. Saboteur 2 inclui o jogo base e cartas adicionais (o chefe, os aproveitadores, os geólogos), novas cartas de ação (roubar ouro, mudar o seu papel), e novas cartas de túnel, com portas, escadas e pontes. Além do mais, os mineiros podem agora ser divididos em equipas (azul e verde) e somente aqueles que encontram o ouro pontuam qualquer coisa.
