Hive é um pequeno jogo de estratégia que graças à sua originalidade e simplicidade tem ganho adeptos e prémios por todo o globo. O jogo é muito simples. Cada jogador começa com 12 peças que não são mais do que insetos. Assim teremos sob o nosso comando abelhas, formigas, aranhas, escaravelhos e gafanhotos. Tudo bicharocos fofinhos, como se pode constatar. O objetivo é pois cercar a abelha adversária com as peças que temos ao nosso dispor. Cada uma das peças tem um movimento próprio. Umas saltam (gafanhotos), outras cercam as outras peças (formigas), outras rodopiam sobre si próprias (aranhas) e os escaravelhos podem imobilizar os insetos adversários subindo para cima deles. Hive é pois um portento da estratégia abstrata que merece estar na estante de toda a gente. Tem peças catitas, puxa pelos neurónios e consegue em 10 minutos dar ao jogador uma sensação semelhante a uma partida de xadrez. Deite para o lado o tradicional tabuleiro aos quadrados pretos e brancos e esqueça os roques e os cheques. Embarque com os amigos nesta nova aventura e pelo sim e pelo não, compre um insecticida. Pode ser que dê jeito.
